According to an article in the [1] Wall Street Journal: “Employers [are being] warned of labor shortages, particularly in agriculture during the fall harvest, as the Bush administration appeared ready to implement new rules that would press employers to fire workers who appear to be in the U.S. illegally.”
From a sociological perspective, it will be interesting to see what the net effect of these crackdowns will be. Unfortunately, immigrant families, employers and American citizens will be lab rats.
