NEW USCIS MEMO ON THE APPLICABLILITY OF SECTION 245(K) TO CERTAIN EB ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS APPLICATIONS

A new USCIS Memorandum “…clarifies how section 245(k) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (the Act) renders certain section 245(c) bars to adjustment of status under section 245(a) inapplicable to certain employment-based adjustment of status applicants.”

UNDOCUMENTED WILL BE INVITED TO “SELF-DEPORT”

US ICE will be announcing a program that will allow those who are here unlawfully to turn themselves over to ICE agents and self-deport:  No incentive, no waiver of the bar of inadmissibility, just turn themselves over to be processed and go home.

For once, both pro and anti-immigrant organizations agree, this is a ridiculous idea.  Why would anyone participate in such a program when they could simply leave the US without turning themselves over to anybody?  Sometimes I have to do a double-take when I read some of the ideas our elected and appointed officials come up with!

VIDEOS: SMART PEOPLE TALK ABOUT U.S. IMMIGRATION

I am a huge fan of this site and highly recommend hearing what some folks who are a lot smarter than me have to say about various aspects of our immigration system.  It is the same site that had the videos of Dr. Q (Undocumented Alien to top Brain Surgeon):  www.bigthink.com.
