According to an article on [1] online.wsj.com:  “Now, one of the biggest questions Democrats face is whether hardening attitudes toward immigration, aggravated by hard economic times and rising unemployment, will push the party down paths that could undercut that Hispanic support, much as hardening rhetoric undermined Hispanic support for Republicans in the past two years.”

I personally believe that Democrats have become very smart strategically and it is unlikely that the party will allow immigration issue to bring them down.  Stay tuned, because something’s cooking and changes to our nation’s immigration policies will likely happen according to a well thought-through plan.  Although there are no easy solutions, especially in light of the United States’ current economic crisis, the Obama Administration seems too smart to either ignore immigration or use the issue to polarize the population.  Stay tuned…
