IMMIGRATION REFORM IN LAME DUCK SESSION?

According to an article on thehill.com:  “Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) defended his introduction of an immigration bill just before leaving for the campaign recess as either an opportunity for lawmakers to take up the legislation either in the lame-duck session or in the next Congress.”

Although I applaud the Senator’s efforts, the chance of Congress passing CIR in the lame duck session is as likely as the sense of hope the term “lame duck” evokes.

H-1B CAP COUNT (10/1/2010)

According to the USCIS, as of September 17th, 2010, the agency has received 40,600 out of 65,000 available cap-subject H-1B petitions for FY-2011 and 14,900 out of 20,000 available petitions under the H-1B Master’s Cap Exemption.
