According to an article on [1] usatoday.com:  “In what may be a short-lived victory for young immigrants, the House voted Wednesday to approve a bill to allow illegal immigrants brought to the United States as children to earn legal status if they attend college or serve in the U.S. military.”

The Senate is scheduled to take up the measure as early as Thursday.  Many believe it is unlikely the DREAM Act will garner the 60 Senate votes necessary to prevent a filibuster, thereby killing the bill for the session and preventing an up or down vote on the measure.
