ALL PERM APPLICATIONS TO BE FILED IN ATLANTA EFFECTIVE 6/1/08

According to a Notice posted in the Federal Register, Vol. 73, No. 44 on March 5, 2008, the Department of Labor “strongly encourages employers to file PERM applications using the Permanent Online System at http://www.plc.doleta.gov. Effective June 1, 2008, employers who do not wish to file online must mail their PERM applications directly to the Atlanta NPC.”

In other words, do not mail PERM applications to the Philadelphia Processing Center after June 1, 2008.  Many PERM applications have been audited and many have been pending for many months in Atlanta.  Hopefully, a National Processing Center will lead to increased efficiency for the DOL.
