ARE HATE CRIMES TIED TO IMMIGRATION DEBATE?

According to an article on abcnews.com:  “The national immigration debate is driving up the number of hate groups in the country and fueling attacks against Hispanics, according to a report released today by a civil rights group.”

If true, this would not surprise me.  I hear and read such hateful comments regarding the undocumented that I now listen to meditation tapes rather than talk radio as I drive to work.  Maybe Congress should take a deep breath and meditate before tackling the immigration issue again so that we end up with a comprehensive solution that, although not perfect, would address the problem as a whole and end the hateful rhetoric that cable and radio personalities use for ratings and politicians use for votes.
